Lamu is a Writer-Director works between London & New York

​​​​

Born in Tibet and raised in the mountains.

 

Her work explores the fragile spaces between belonging and isolation, memory and identity, blending poetic realism with unflinching storytelling.

Her short film "Theo: Beyond Expression" has been selected for numerous international film festivals and was nominated for Best Short Film and won Best Performance at the NEW ERA Film Festival. Her BFA Thesis film "Walk Alone" won the DGA Student Film Awards for Best Female Filmmaker and was selected for the Rhode Island International Film Festival and the Rome International Short Film Award. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of the Moving Image New York, George Washington University, DC and the Producers Club New York.

Lamu is currently developing her feature project Song for No One”, continuing her pursuit of cinematic storytelling that lingers—intimate, evocative, and deeply human.
